What’s behind the NYS Blue & Yellow historic markers?

Originally planned for the 150th anniversary of the American Revolution in 1926, the prolific blue and yellow signs populated the state in the 1920s and 1930s. One woman in particular was personally responsible for successfully applying for 100 signs in Dutchess and Columbia County, two of which are explored in more depth here.
